Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 3: RUNNERS launched with a complete overhaul of the island and the high-stakes Sprite Extraction loop, merging fast-paced tactical mobility with collectible companion abilities that carry over from match to match.

Core Gameplay Mechanic: Collectible Sprites & Extraction

Catching Sprites: Sprites spawn inside chests, drop from defeated opponents, or hover wildly across the Shattered Coast map.
Extraction & Exfil: To keep a Sprite permanently, players must navigate to an Extraction Site terminal and survive a countdown timer.
Sprite Dust & Pre-Match Summoning: Successful extractions award Sprite Dust. Before dropping from the Battle Bus, spend Sprite Dust to summon previously extracted Sprites directly into your loadout.
Leveling & Rarity Styles: Sprites level up through exploration, eliminations, and extractions. Rare visual variants also drop—including Gold (3x XP), Gummy (+20% Sprite Dust), Galaxy, and Holofoil.

Core Gameplay Mechanic: Gaming Sprites & Hacked POIs

Gaming Legend Sprites: Brand-new companion Sprites hover alongside players, granting specialized abilities—such as air gliding with Tails or speed boosts with Sonic.
Cartridge Slots: Players can collect and socket Game Cartridges across the map to override weapon behaviors and environmental hazards.
